Fleet & equipment
Every tractor and trailer — company-owned, maintained in-house.
200 tractors and 300 trailers. No leased capacity, no subcontracted equipment. If it carries your freight, it carries our name.
By the numbers
An asset base you can plan around.
The equipment
Three fleets, one operator, every lane covered.
Tractors, dry vans, and multi-temp reefers — all company-owned, all maintained on the same preventive cycle, all running domestic GTA, inter-provincial, and cross-border.
Tractors
200 late-model units. ELD-compliant. Satellite-tracked.
Every tractor is company-owned and maintained on a 15,000 km preventive cycle at our Brampton shop — no deferred maintenance, no leases where someone else decides when to change the oil. All units are ELD-compliant with live GPS, so your team sees exactly where the truck is, not an estimate from three hours ago.
Dry van trailers
150 × 53-ft tandem axle. Air ride. Multiple configurations.
Interiors take 48×40 pallets double-stacked, with logistic-post and swing-door options and air-ride suspension for freight that cannot take a rough ride. We run dry vans on every lane we serve — domestic GTA, inter-provincial, and cross-border.
Reefer trailers
150 × 53-ft multi-temp. −20 °F to 70 °F.
Frozen, chilled, and ambient on the same fleet, with multi-temp bulkheads for mixed loads. Continuous temperature logging, real-time drift alerts to dispatch, CFIA/FDA compliance, washouts between loads, and a full temp printout at delivery.
Maintenance
We maintain our own fleet because breakdowns aren’t just our problem — they’re yours.
Every tractor and trailer runs a 15,000 km preventive-maintenance cycle at our own Brampton shop. We don’t defer maintenance to squeeze another few thousand kilometres out of a unit, and we don’t wait for something to fail — we replace and inspect on a cycle, with records any auditor or shipper can review on request.
- In-house shop, not a third-party lease where someone else decides when to service the truck.
- Preventive replacement and inspection on a fixed cadence — fewer roadside failures.
- A fleet that starts when it’s −30 °C in January and your freight still has to cross.

Fleet questions
Does Alpha Trans own its trucks or broker the freight?
Every tractor and trailer is company-owned and company-maintained. We are an asset-based carrier — your freight rides on our equipment with our drivers, never subcontracted off a load board.
How are the trucks maintained?
All units run a 15,000 km preventive-maintenance cycle at our own Brampton shop, with records any auditor or shipper can review on request.
Are the trailers temperature-controlled?
We run 150 multi-temp 53-ft reefers from −20 °F to 70 °F with continuous logging and drift alerts, alongside 150 air-ride dry vans.
Can you track my freight in real time?
Yes. Every tractor is ELD-compliant with live GPS, so dispatch — and your team — sees the truck’s actual position updated continuously, not a three-hour-old estimate. We can share status the way that suits you.
What trailer configurations are available for cross-border loads?
Our 150 dry vans are 53-ft tandem-axle with air-ride suspension, logistic-post and swing-door options, and clearance for 48×40 pallets double-stacked — suitable for general, retail, and manufacturing freight on any GTA, inter-provincial, or Canada–USA lane.
How does owning the fleet help my freight clear the border faster?
Because we are asset-based and trusted-trader certified (CT-PAT, FAST, PIP), your load moves as a known, low-risk shipment on our own equipment — no swapping carriers mid-lane and no unfamiliar truck showing up at the booth with paperwork that does not match.
